One thing I’ve been very open about is my past. I wasn’t always the person you see today. My teens were rough. Drugs, alcohol and gangs was my way of life. That and other experiences you’ll get to hear about as we get to know each other better lead to me becoming angry, bitter and extremely negative. Heck, let me not down play it. I WAS TOXIC.
The day I learned to forgive others and myself is the day peace and joy entered my life. It was light a 1 ton gorilla was lifted off my shoulders and I could breathe again. The past is behind for a reason. The future is before us. God placed our eyes in front where we could focus on the future and not the past.
LIfe doesn’t always hand us the perfect set of cards. I have however learned that if I learn to play those cards right I can still win. That challenging hand is no longer an obstacle but rather the thing that sharpens my senses and increases my skills.
Did I forget the past? No, I would need brain surgery for that. lol What changed is, it no longers holds me prisoner. The past now serves as a market to show me where I started and how far I’ve come.
